If you have a baby around the house, this makes for a great treasure basket for heuristic play! (Ages 6 - 12 months) Fill up the boxes every couple of days with objects from around the house. It could range anywhere between a spoon to rattles and balls.  In other words, their first treasure basket! Babies gain a rich sensory experience through sucking, handling and putting items in their mouths. This helps them learn about weight, size, shape, texture, sound and smell. A baby can sometimes spend more than an hour concentrating and exploring treasure baskets!
